Social Impact Design Jam

Calling Victoria Social Impact Organizations: Interested in Design Thinking? Join Us in an Exciting Learning Opportunity!

The Victoria Impact Design Collective VIDC (Dan, Adam, & Jaimie), in partnership with Scale Institute Society and theDock, is developing a hands-on, multi-part Design Thinking course designed specifically for Greater Victoria social impact organizations. This course will help non-profits like yours develop user-centered solutions to the complex societal and environmental challenges you face, all while bringing people together to foster collaboration and creativity across the local nonprofit community.

We’re planning to offer two cohorts in 2025 with up to 30 participants, aimed at helping you prototype solutions, test ideas, and build strategies to make a greater impact with limited resources. We’d also love to work with a few organizations directly to do a deeper dive through personalized design sprints with your community, tailored to address your unique challenges.

Here’s where we need your help:

We are currently applying for grant funding to make this course a reality, and we’re looking to gauge interest from local organizations to include in our funding proposal. By expressing interest in the course, you can help us secure the funding needed to get these going!

If your nonprofit is interested in expanding its impact through Design Thinking, please reach out and express your interest today to VIDC!

the third wednesday of each month

@theDock Centre for Social Impact - 722 Cormorant St

The Queer Open Stage returns on the third Wednesday of each month. The event is hosted by singer-songwriter Sara Rose (they/them). The series is intended to provide a safe space for 2SLGBTQIA+ performers to showcase their talent, find community, and network with other queer artists. Music, drag, poetry, dance, drama, magic and more ... if you can do it in ten minutes or less, we want to see it!
